Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya, Purba Medinipur (VMM) was established on 9th August 1968 to impart quality education to the students belonging to the backward communities of Purba Medinipur where finding higher level education of good quality is a tough task. VMM Purba Medinipur offers numerous undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce streams such as Bengali, Education, English, History, Music, Philosophy, Physical Education, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography, Mathematics, Nutrition, Physics, Zoology and Environmental Science. VMM Purba Medinipur also offers postgraduate courses in Bengali Philosophy and History.
For online admission, the students will find an admission portal on the website through which they must register themselves by filling up their personal and academic details. After they are done with these procedures, they must make the payment either through the online payment option available on the website or through manual payment. VMM Purba Medinipur’s Teacher’s Council consists of all the permanent faculties, who ensure that the students receive a pleasant teaching-learning experience.
Students are provided internship opportunities with the assistance of a committee that is in charge of collaborating with different sectors of various industries. Apart from this VMM Purba Medinipur also conducts several field trips and Educational and Industrial excursions which help the students in developing important soft skills.
Vivekananda Mission Mahavidyalaya, Purba Medinipur (VMM), comes with a wide range of infrastructural facilities. Being an institutional member of The Central Library of Vidyasagar University, students get access to the vast amount of books, journals, and other resources available there. Along with that VMMPM has separate departmental libraries and also provides its faculty members and students with numerous e-resources since it is a member of NLIST.
The institute’s playground is used to organize various sports activities and annual sports events were not only students but teaching and non-teaching faculty also take part. VMM Purba Medinipur also has sporting facilities like a badminton court, table tennis, recreational facilities like Gym and Yoga, and a room allotted for indoor games.
The wifi-enabled campus has a smart classroom for conducting audiovisual classes, and a seminar hall for conducting numerous workshops, seminars, conferences, and meetings. VMM Purba Medinipur has a number of labs that are equipped with computers such as laboratories for the science stream where students can do their practicals, a Geography lab, a Mathematics lab, a Commerce lab, and a Computer lab.
Both boys and girls are provided with separate hostel facilities, along with CCTV cameras installed to provide safety for the women students. VMM Medinipur has a spacious and well-equipped canteen that has fresh food and beverage options available for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
