Established in 1950 and formerly known as Barisha college, Vivekananda College (VC Kolkata) is a premier Science college in West Bengal. VC Kolkata is currently affiliated with Calcutta University.

VC Kolkata primarily offers Undergraduate courses in Science, however, it also offers courses in Science and Commerce. Some of the subjects taught at VC Kolkata include Philosophy, Human Rights, Political Science, Journalism, English, Bengali, Economics, Geography, History, Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Zoology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science, and much more.

Admission Procedure

Admission to Vivekananda College, Kolkata is based on merit and is done online. Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate courses such as BA, B.Sc and B.Com in various specialisations are required to have pass marks in their Higher Secondary Examinations from any recognized board. The students are required to follow the official website for admission-related queries. 

Two specialisations in the M.A. and M.Sc. degrees are also offered by VC Kolkata. Candidates must at least have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field to be considered. Selection will be based on how well candidates performed on the qualifying exam.
