For their diploma degree candidate must complete a secondary examination (10th) with passing marks in the science discipline. Final admission is based on personal interview and merit basis.

Vivekanand Education Society’s Polytechnic, Mumbai has a dedicated placements cell that aims to provide students with training and job placements. The placements cell additionally conducts training sessions for interview preparation, group discussions, and analytical reasoning so that students can succeed in interviews. Additionally, the students receive career coaching so that every student is offered employment. The industrial visit programs are organized by the placement department to give students practical experience. Every year the placement department organizes a campus recruitment drive to invite multiple companies to the institution and provide job placement.
