Vimala College, Thrissur (VC Thrissur) founded in 1967 and connected with the University of Calicut, is a first-year women's college managed by the CMC. In keeping with the principles and legacy that the Congregation's founders, Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara and Fr. Leopold Beccaro OCD, left behind, the CMC Education Policy places a strong focus on the pursuit of intellectual and professional excellence for the whole transformation of an individual for their enrichment and the service of society and the country in the spirit of God. In 2016, the UGC granted VC Thrissur the status of College with Potential for Excellence and Mentor College status. VC Thrissur offers BCom, BSc, MSc, MA, BVoc, and Ph.D. degrees. VC Thrissur follows the online admission procedure. Candidates must fulfill all qualifying criteria given by the University of Calicut, Kerala's government, and VC Thrissur. VC Thrissur has a dedicated and trained faculty. The mission of the faculty is to prepare women for academic distinction, skill development, and character-building grounded in a love of God and service to the community and the nation. VC Thrissur has modern infrastructure and covers a land area of 29.6 acres. The classrooms, labs, halls, library, theatre, guest house, and other amenities provide the best settings that improve the teaching-learning processes and are dispersed throughout a four-block area in and around the campus. All classrooms have LAN connections and access to Wi-Fi. A fully automated library offers access to e-resources and learning materials of the highest caliber. The Central Library has come a long way since it was founded in 1967. It is located in a three-story structure with a 15000 square foot floor area. Reading room, Reference Section, Internet Resources, Media Room, Digital Library, Research Hub, Bound Volumes, Book Bank, Periodical Section, Reprographic Section, e-book Corner, Database Searching, and Online Services- CAS, SDI, Website, and Blog are among the amenities offered. The Career Guidance, Placement, and Training Cell of VC Thrissur assist students in selecting the appropriate professional paths. The cell was started in 1998 to give students other employment options. The cell holds regular coaching sessions for competitive tests in addition to job fairs, seminars, and workshops. To make contact between businesses and students easier, the Placement cell is open year-round. The students of VC Thrissur get placed in companies like Infosys, Federal Bank, Capgemini, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, etc. VC Thrissur assists students to get scholarships like VIDHYASAMUNNATHI Merit Scholarship, C H MUHAMMEDKOYA Scholarship, and PROF.
