University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur (UAS Raichur) is a prominent agricultural university located in Raichur, Karnataka, India. It is one of the five agricultural universities established in Karnataka, and it has a rich history and legacy in agricultural education, research, and extension services. UAS Raichur is dedicated to enhancing agricultural productivity, sustainable farming practices, and rural development in the region.
UAS Raichur, was established as an autonomous agricultural institute in 2008 under the Government of Karnataka. It was formed by bifurcating the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, to cater specifically to the agricultural needs and challenges of the northeastern dry zone of Karnataka, which includes the Raichur and Koppal districts.
UAS Raichur offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various fields of agriculture and related disciplines. Some of the major faculties and departments include- Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Basic Sciences and Humanities, andFaculty of Agricultural Marketing, Co-operation, and Agribusiness Management. UAS Raichur provides a comprehensive education and practical training to students, preparing them for careers in agriculture, agribusiness, rural development, and research.
Research is a crucial component of UAS Raichur's activities. The university conducts research in diverse areas of agriculture, including crop improvement, soil science, water management, pest and disease management, agricultural engineering, and sustainable farming practices. The aim is to develop innovative technologies and solutions to address the challenges faced by farmers in the region.

Admission Procedure

University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur offers four years Undergraduate degree (B.Tech, B.Sc) and Two Years Postgraduate degree (M.Tech, M.Sc) in Agriculture with various specalization. Interested candidate can appply through their official website. To apply for their degree candidate must qualify basic admission criteria. For their Undergraduate degree candidate must completed higher secondary education 10+2 in science discpline, and candidate must qualify for an entrance examination Common Entrance Test. UAS Raichur conducts admission as per the guidelines of CET Cell of Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).  And for postgraduate (M.Sc and M.Tech) degree  candidate must completed graduation in any branch of Agriculture / Horticulture with 60% marks. And candidate must qualify for an entrance examination PGCET-KFU (Farm Universities of Karnataka)  Or ICAR-AIEEA(PG) with valid marks. Final admission is based on merit.

UAS Raichur also offers PhD  and Diploma degree with various specalization. To apply for their PhD degree candidate must completed masters degree with7.5/10 marks in any barch of agriculture / Horticulture or equivalent degree. And candidate must qualify for an entrance examination ICAR-AICE-JRF/SRF(PhD) with valid marks.

Faculty

University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur has a dedicated placement cell, which is primarily focused on aiding students in the preparation process of interviews and facilitating them to secure internships. The placement department at our facility systematically organises a variety of training programs, preparatory seminars and interviews designed to help students secure employment Placement cell regularly facilitate agricultural workshops along with industrial visits in an effort to broaden the learning experience for all students. 

Some of the recruiting companies are- Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers LTD, Aries Agro Ltd, Larsen and Toubro Ltd, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Core Green Sugar Ltd and more.
