University College, Thiruvananthapuram (UC Thiruvananthapuram), was established in 1866 by H.H. Sri Ayilyam Thirunal Rama Varma Maharaja with the aim of promoting English education among the common populace of erstwhile Travancore. Affiliated to the University of Kerala, UC Thiruvananthapuram presently offers 18 undergraduate (UG), 34 postgraduate (PG), and 18 doctorate (PhD) courses for students to pursue. The UG courses are for the degrees of Bachelor of Arts (B.A) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc); while the PG courses are for Master of Arts (M.A), Master of Science (M.Sc), and the research degree of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil). Admissions to the aforementioned courses at UC Thiruvananthapuram take place online through the official College website.
