University College of Engineering, Kakinada (UCE Kakinada), JNTU Kakinada was first founded by the government of the Composite Madras State in 1946, it was known as "The College of Engineering, Vizagpatnam." UCE Kakinada is currently a 110-acre campus that is covered in mango trees and located in the rapidly growing port city of Kakinada on the east coast of peninsula India. Kakinada has a strong cultural and political background that has been passed down through the centuries. It was once associated with Andhra University.
Through a legislative act, UCE Kakinada, along with other sister institutions governed by the then-Director of Technical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, joined other institutions to form the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad, which opened its doors on February 2, 1972. UCE Kakinada gained autonomy in the year 2003. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada was created in accordance with the Govt of AP, ACT No. 30 of 2008, dt. 24 Sept. 2008, and UCE Kakinada has been designated as a constituent college of JNTU Kakinada.
The Governing Body, which is established in accordance with UGC guidelines, is responsible for overseeing all academic activities at UCE Kakinada. UCE Kakinada offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, and Ph.D. degrees. As UCE Kakinada is a government institution, admission is solely based on merit, which is handled by the A.P. State Government.
UCE Kakinada has a dedicated and trained faculty. The mission of the faculty is to develop highly skilled, all-encompassing students that benefit the country by taking the lead in innovation and technology through engineering education.

The classrooms are designed to ensure an optimal learning experience for all students, providing them with the perfect environment to gain knowledge and acquire new skills. The laboratories are equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to facilitate learning and experimentation. There are roughly 54000 books total in the library's collection, including textbooks and reference works. The journal subscription is greater than ten. A sizable portion of pricey reference books, a sizable textbook collection intended to support the courses of UCE Kakinada, and a selection of books designated for BC/SC/ST students are also included in the library's collection.
The Training and Placement cell of UCE Kakinada plans and executes a variety of initiatives with the goal of shaping students to meet the demands of the workplace in terms of professional development and, in turn, bring honor to the parent institution. The Training and Placement Office works to preserve positive relationships with the industry while being guided by a set of standards and values. The goal of the cell is to place every single student, and we'll do this by working hard, being positive, and fully committing to preparing the students to reach industry standards. The students of UCE Kakinada get placed in companies like Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Federal Bank, HCL, IBM, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, etc.

Admission Procedure
University College of Engineering, Kakinada offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and Ph.D degrees. As UCE Kakinada is a government institution, admission is solely based on merit, which is handled by the A.P. State Government. Government of Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is the basis for admission to undergraduate programmes (B.Tech), and Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) conducts counselling on the government's behalf. Admission to PG programmes (M.Tech) is determined by Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGECET), whereas Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) determines admission to MCA programmes. The University fills the sponsored quota for M.Tech admission. Ph.D. admissions are made based on the results of the university's written exam and interview.
