The University of Burdwan's campus provides a variety of modern infrastructure and facilities for the student's convenience and to enhance their social and academic experiences. The two-storeyed campus library houses a large collection of printed and digital materials such as around 1,58,962 books, journals, reprints, theses, micro-films, reports, rare books and CD ROMs to facilitate study and research. There are also 19 departmental libraries.
Male and female students are accommodated separately in fully furnished hostels. To promote the students' overall development, a variety of indoor and outdoor sports facilities including football and basketball are available. Students can gain a practical understanding of the disciplines by using fully equipped and course-specific laboratories. All the classrooms are outfitted with modern teaching aids. A well-maintained cafeteria serves nutritious food to the students at reasonable prices. The technologically advanced 'Meghnad Saha Planetarium' of BU is a renowned structure and is equipped with a projection system. A Health Centre provides both outdoor and emergency medical care to students and visitors. The centre includes ECG, USG, X-Ray, physiotherapy, dental care, foetal dopper, LFT and other services.
