The Oxford College of Arts (TOCA) started in the year 2006 with the vision of providing educational opportunities at par with global standards. The institution is part of The Oxford Group of Educational Institutions which was established back in 1974 with the backing of the Children’s Education Society (R). TOCA, Bengaluru aims at providing students with overall development alongside academic excellence. It boasts of dynamic management and dedicated teaching faculties who work in tandem to provide overall development to the students academically, and personality-wise as well as to imbibe a strong value system. The extra-curricular and co-curricular activities coupled with the extensive experience of the faculty members in different departments help in reinforcing an appropriate teaching-learning experience in the students.
The Oxford College of Arts, Bengaluru provides a number of undergraduate programmes. The courses offered are a 4 Year Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in the departments of English, Psychology, Sociology, Journalism and Economics. Admission to the various undergraduate programmes is offered on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in their 10+2 or equivalent examinations. The application form can be downloaded by the candidates from the official website itself. TOCA provides career counselling and internship programmes to students. Major companies in IT, Manufacturing, Hospitals, Funding Agencies, NGOs, and other fields are invited to the campus drives. The students have been placed in reputed organizations like ActionAid, Bosco, Big Bazaar, Comer Industries, and Silver Crest among others.
Located in the serenity of Hosur-Sarjapur Layout, The Oxford College of Arts, Bengaluru provides an array of modern infrastructures for the benefit of the students. The library has a carpet area of 927.680 sq. mtr and is equipped with both traditional as well as digital libraries. The traditional library has a whopping capacity of seating 250 people and houses 40,000 books and 200 national and international journals. On the other hand, the digital library is equipped with e-books, CDs, INFLIBNET and DELNET facilities. The Psychology department has a well-equipped laboratory for the students. The studio has all the facilities that the student would possibly require to film their own documentaries and short films. The studio has a Sony PD170 camera, a sound-proof recording room, LED soft lights, Black Magic Deck, condenser microphones, a column microphone, a chroma key, the latest FCP video editing suite and ProTools audio editing suite. The auditorium of TOCA, can seat 650 people and is aided by video conferencing facilities. Hostel facilities with separate accommodations for male and female students are available. The institute also provides transportation facilities and has its own fleet of buses to benefit the students.
Admission Procedure
The Oxford College of Arts offers admission in three combinations of the B.A program and two postgraduate programmes. Admission to all the undergraduate courses is done on the basis of merit. The interested candidates can avail and download the application form from the official website.
