Established in 2005, The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi or NUALS Kochi seeks to impart legal education to students and instil in them a sense of responsibility as progressive citizens of the country. It also aims to promote legal and judicial reforms in India to strengthen the nation’s judicial system. NUALS is a Government sponsored autonomous University which is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
NUALS Kochi is backed by renowned and experienced faculty members who are keen to inculcate in the students the sense of responsibility to serve society through advocacy, legal services, legislation, and law reforms. NUALS offers a 5-year degree in B.A. LL.B (Hons) at the undergraduate level. The candidates seeking admission need to have passed their 10+2 board examinations from a recognized Board or Council in India with a minimum cutoff percentage. The candidates also need to appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) to get enrolled in the course. The Placement Cell of NUALS Kochi is run by a student committee that reports to a Faculty member appointed by the University. The Placement Cell is responsible for pre-placement training and internships as well as arranging for face-to-face and online interviews for students. There are also arrangements for recruiters to provide pre-placement talks. Various corporate institutions and law firms like BSM Legal, JustLaw, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Legodesk, and Legal Bites among others are invited for recruitment and internships.
The NUALS Kochi campus is facilitated with modern amenities to aid the students. There are hostel facilities available separately in two different blocks for male and female students. The hostels have triple occupancy rooms with attached bathrooms along with mess facilities, a common room and indoor gaming facilities. The traditional library has 13944 books and subscriptions available for several Indian and foreign law journals apart from a digital library. The Wi-Fi-enabled campus has eight classrooms equipped with speaker systems and air conditioners as well as an auditorium with a capacity of seating 300 students apart from a seminar hall and a moot court. The NUALS Kochi campus also has facilities for sports like football, cricket, volleyball, and throwball and a well-equipped gymnasium for both male and female students. Other facilities include a cafeteria, ATM facility and a health care clinic with a registered medical practitioner inside the campus.

Admission Procedure
The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi accepts students for undergraduate, postgraduate diploma, post-graduate, and doctoral programmes. Candidates must first meet the eligibility requirements for NUALS Kochi admission. Following that, candidates need to complete the university application form. Candidates must take the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and have a minimum of 45 percent in the 12th exam from any recognized school to be admitted to the B.A LL.B (Hons) course.
NUALS Kochi also provides post-graduate ( LL.M ) and PGDM, and PhD degrees with various specializations. Interested candidates can apply through their official website. To apply for their Post-Graduate degree candidate must qualify for an entrance examination (CLAT) Common Law Admission Test with valid marks. For their PhD degree candidate must qualify for an entrance examination (UGC-NET) with valid marks.

Placements
The Placement Cell of The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi exists to facilitate and streamline the campus recruitment process. They also offer pre-employment training. The Cell is run by a student committee that reports to the Faculty Coordinator, who is appointed by the university. The Cell serves as a platform for legal organizations to interact with students for the purpose of placements. In cases where a direct interview is not possible, online interviews via video conferencing will be available. They also provide infrastructure for any recruiter who wishes to give a pre-placement talk. Students have got internships in various law firms and corporate institutions like BSM Legal, JustLaw, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Legodesk, and Legal Bites among others.
