The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore (TNIE Mysore) which had humble beginnings as a Civil Engineering College in 1946, has developed over time to become one of the top engineering schools in the State of Karnataka. Nine out of ten of the current directors are notable NIE graduates, and TNIE Mysore is run by a registered society. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, has granted TNIE Mysore a grant-in-aid designation. In 2007, TNIE Mysore received autonomy from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. TNIE Mysore is renowned for the caliber of its instruction and first-rate lab facilities. TNIE Mysore is a renowned institute located in an expansive area of twenty acres. TNIE Mysore offers a conducive atmosphere to its students, enabling them to excel in their respective fields. TNIE Mysore provides 48 ICT-enabled spacious classrooms, equipped with black/green boards, multimedia projectors, internet, writing desks, fans, and LED. TNIE Mysore also boasts state-of-the-art laboratories, serving the needs of both the UG and PG curricula. Furthermore, there are three well-equipped seminar halls to conduct seminars, expert lectures, and viva-voce, along with individual departments having their own seminar halls. The Central Library, meanwhile, is a veritable trove of knowledge, with a collection of 1,11,357 books, e-journals, NPTEL video access service, as well as ebooks and plagiarism checker service. CDs, DVDs mirroring faculty publications, newsletters, college magazines, question papers, course material, lecture notes, and more are also available. The Training and Placement Department was one of the first to be established in an engineering institution by TNIE Mysore. The main concern is finding jobs for college students. The Placement Cell just acts as a link between a job seeker and a potential employer. Internship programs are 100% supported by industry personnel. The cell makes an effort to host technical seminars, workshops, GATE coaching sessions, career counseling for those interested in higher education, and discussions on corporate expectations.
