The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSUB), Vadodara has its roots in Baroda College established in 1881 by Baroda State. The present MSUB was established in 1949 by the last Maharaja of the erstwhile Baroda State, Pratap Singh Gaekwad of Baroda (1908–1968) respecting the wishes of his grandfather, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III (1863–1939). The mission of the institution is embedded in morality, and values alongside academic excellence to help students of all genders to think global and act locally to be provided through high-quality education.
MSUB has 567 teaching staff and 548 non-teaching faculty who are always ready to help the students. Additionally, guest lecturers are invited to the MSUB to impart further insights to the students.

The admission process of MSUB is based upon the merit of scores obtained by the candidates in their 10+2 board examinations from a recognized Board or Council in India. For certain courses which require further screening, students need to appear for examinations like NEET/NATA, etc. and the entrance test conducted by the MSUB.
MSUB offers scholarships to students with an annual family income of less than ₹ 3.5 LPA. The Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW) is a flagship initiative of the University providing financial assistance to economically weaker students studying at MSUB.
The students of MSUB are provided with good placement opportunities from organizations like Infosys, ABB, Panasonic, Mahindra, Indian Oil, TATA and many more.
MSUB has a WiFi-enabled campus with smart classrooms and fully furnished labs for each department. The traditional library of MSUB is home to 8,68,304 books and 280 print journals while the digital library provides 40,000 online journals, 10 Kindle E-Book Readers, National Digital library among other services. The 12 hostels for male students and 4 hostels for female students are well equipped with the necessary amenities.
The campus provides infrastructures for sports like football, cricket, tennis, basketball, and volleyball as well as one swimming pool, one indoor and one outdoor gymnasium and a running track. There are also provisions for indoor games like chess, carrom, table tennis, etc. There are 8 auditoriums, 6 seminar halls and a Moot Court as well. The cafeteria provides the students with healthy and nutritious food. The medical emergencies of the students are attended to by the medical team present on campus.

Admission Procedure
The admission of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is done online. Students (co-ed) are required to qualify for their Higher Secondary Examination from any recognised board. The students are required to qualify for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and the entrance test which is conducted by MSUB, for the students into various courses.
