Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Meerut (IHM Meerut) was established in 1987 as an autonomous body and is registered as an Educational Society under the Societies Act 1860. “Where Success Comes First” is IHM Meerut's motto and their mission statement reads: “To provide high quality, student-centred education and lifelong learning opportunities for the communities we serve”. IHM Meerut’s aim is to provide top-notch education in the fields of hotel, hospitality, and management and their approach are grounded in the values of diversity, individuality, mutual respect and the free exchange of ideas.
IHM Meerut offers a total of four undergraduate courses, namely, B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration, Bachelor in Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). The B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration is a 3-year degree with 22 weeks of Industrial Training. It is affiliated with National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). BHMCT is a 4-year degree with one semester of industrial training. This course is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Government of India and affiliated with Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The BBA as well as the BCA program runs for 2 years and is affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. All admissions for IHM Meerut are based on the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology-Joint Entrance Exam (NCHMCT-JEE) and academic merit. For the BHMCT course, applicants are required to apply for the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam (UPSEE). To obtain admission to IHM Meerut, all applicants must have successfully completed a 10+2 examination or equivalent from a recognized board of secondary education. The entire admission process is assisted by their Digital Admissions Cell. Scholarships are awarded at the start of the program on the basis of academic merit in the 10+2 examination. Certain scholarships are also awarded during the academic year based on the student's performance in their first academic year. The Placement Cell of IHM Meerut has created and maintained a strong network with the larger hotel and hospitality industry to ensure the greatest potential job opportunities for graduates. The IHM Meerut placement network also extends beyond the H&H field to aeronautics, railroads, shipping, hospitals, and internationally renowned fast food franchises. Students are provided with a six-month-long industrial training, wherein they also receive a small stipend. The IHM Meerut campus houses a multipurpose auditorium, accommodating a large audience for various events. The classrooms are well-furnished and equipped with all the amenities conducive to an effective and free-flowing learning environment for all students. First aid and medical facilities are available across the campus. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled with high internet connectivity. Students are taught how to use the latest information technologies in day-to-day management in the institute's well-equipped computer labs present on campus. IHM Meerut also houses other course-specific labs such as Housekeeping, Front-office, Audio-visual Lab and Bakery and Confectionery Labs. The library comprises a wide collection of books, reference materials, magazines as well as audio-visual aids. Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Meerut, offers a variety of undergraduate courses with the goal of providing international hospitality standards training and professional competence to its students.
