Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Meerut (IHM Meerut) was established in 1987 as an autonomous body and is registered as an Educational Society under the Societies Act 1860. “Where Success Comes First” is IHM Meerut's motto and their mission statement reads: “To provide high quality, student-centred education and lifelong learning opportunities for the communities we serve”. IHM Meerut’s aim is to provide top-notch education in the fields of hotel, hospitality, and management and their approach are grounded in the values of diversity, individuality, mutual respect and the free exchange of ideas.

IHM Meerut offers a total of four undergraduate courses, namely, B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration, Bachelor in Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). The B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration is a 3-year degree with 22 weeks of Industrial Training. It is affiliated with National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). BHMCT is a 4-year degree with one semester of industrial training. This course is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Government of India and affiliated with Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. The BBA as well as the BCA program runs for 2 years and is affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. All admissions for IHM Meerut are based on the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology-Joint Entrance Exam (NCHMCT-JEE) and academic merit. For the BHMCT course, applicants are required to apply for the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam (UPSEE). To obtain admission to IHM Meerut, all applicants must have successfully completed a 10+2 examination or equivalent from a recognized board of secondary education. The entire admission process is assisted by their Digital Admissions Cell. Scholarships are awarded at the start of the program on the basis of academic merit in the 10+2 examination. Certain scholarships are also awarded during the academic year based on the student's performance in their first academic year. The Placement Cell of IHM Meerut has created and maintained a strong network with the larger hotel and hospitality industry to ensure the greatest potential job opportunities for graduates. The IHM Meerut placement network also extends beyond the H&H field to aeronautics, railroads, shipping, hospitals, and internationally renowned fast food franchises. Students are provided with a six-month-long industrial training, wherein they also receive a small stipend. Some of the top recruiters are Ramada Plaza, Trident, MSC Cruises, JET Airways, The Oberoi, ITC Hotel, IndiGo, Shangri-La, and Novotel among others. IHM Meerut is regarded as a reliable source of education since it is synonymous with high-quality teaching and strives for excellence in all areas. The IHM Meerut campus houses a multipurpose auditorium, accommodating a large audience for various events. The classrooms are well-furnished and equipped with all the amenities conducive to an effective and free-flowing learning environment for all students. First aid and medical facilities are available across the campus. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled with high internet connectivity. Students are taught how to use the latest information technologies in day-to-day management in the institute's well-equipped computer labs present on campus. IHM Meerut also houses other course-specific labs such as Housekeeping, Front-office, Audio-visual Lab and Bakery and Confectionery Labs. The library comprises a wide collection of books, reference materials, magazines as well as audio-visual aids. The campus also includes a fully air-conditioned gym called ‘BodyLine’ accessible to all students, and a well-maintained cafeteria serving nutritious and hygienic food at reasonable prices. A range of indoor and outdoor sports activities are organized for the students. The campus has a sports hall called the ‘Olympic Hall’ which includes table tennis, carrom, and chess table as well as a badminton and volleyball court. In addition, there are other facilities such as training restaurants with bars, advanced training kitchens, a student cafe and mart, and a video theatre. In terms of accommodation, there are separate dormitories for boys and hostels for girls. These facilities come with a single bed, study table, chair, and cabinet. A water cooler, a generator, and internet connectivity are also made available.

Admission Procedure

Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Meerut, offers a variety of undergraduate courses with the goal of providing international hospitality standards training and professional competence to its students. Admission is based on both the entrance exam and the merits of the applicant. The Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam (UPSEE) scores are used to determine admission to BHMCT . A valid National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology-Joint Entrance Exam (NCHMCT-JEE) score is required for admission to the B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (B.Sc HHA) course. Admission to the B.B.A and B.C.A course is merit based. Applicants for admission to other UG courses must have completed 10+2 exams in Arts, Science, or Commerce with English as one of the required subjects. After completing the first year, students must complete six months of mandatory industrial training, which allows them to familiarise themselves with the environment of their training activities, which are then scrutinised by the respective heads of department of the IHM Meerut at the end of the training. They also receive certificates from the hotels/establishments in question. They also get a small stipend during the training. Scholarships

A scholarship is awarded to students who enroll at Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Meerut. The scholarship will be awarded to students depending on their performance in the first year's exam or percentage of 10+2.

During the academic year, students are only eligible for one sort of scholarship from any source. In succeeding years, meritorious boy students will be awarded a 5% scholarship depending on their percentage in the first, second, and third year examinations, respectively.
In the first year, all female students will get a 5% scholarship.
