The Bhawanipur Education Society College (TBESC Kolkata) is a private institute in Kolkata, offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes covering humanities, science, commerce and other career-oriented courses.
TBESC Kolkata offers the following honours degrees: B.A in English, Journalism and Mass Communication, History, Political Science, Sociology and Bengali; B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science and Electronics; as well as B.Com and B.B.A. They also offer scholarships on merit basis to needy and deserving students. The college, which opened its doors to students in the year 1966, was built by the Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society, an organisation comprising various people from the Gujarati-speaking community in Kolkata. Though the college started its run in 1966 with less than 100 students, today it is recognised as one of the imminent institutes in the city and is affiliated to the University of Kolkata.
TBESC Kolkata is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). A career resource centre within the college gives information on jobs and placements. They hold frequent seminars and workshops on building entrepreneurial, leadership, and interviewing skills, as well as conducting placements despite the challenges. Admission Procedure
The Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata admissions are based purely on merit. With the changing times, they have also moved their admissions procedure online. To be eligible for the different bachelor's degrees offered by the institute, a student must have completed their Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent education and must have secured a pass mark in all areas. However, the eligibility marks criteria differ based on the course the student is applying for. To apply, students must fill out their online admissions form from their website. Merit lists for admission are also published on the same website.
TBESC Kolkata also offers post-graduate (M.A / M.Com) courses with various specializations. Interested candidates can apply through their official website. For their PG degree candidates must qualify bachelor's degree with honours in a relevant discipline and get a minimum second division, final admission is based on merit basis.
