The American College - Satellite Campus (TAC SC), Madurai is a private college in Tallakulam, Tamil Nadu affiliated with the Madurai Kamaraj University. TAC SC, Madurai was originally established as a missionary in 1841 and later grew into a collegiate institution in 1881 via TAC’s founder-principle, Reverend G.T. Washburn. TAC was shifted to the Satellite Campus in 1906 and established itself as an autonomous institution after gaining independence from the mission.

TAC SC, Madurai is sited on an expansive 60-acre campus which houses infrastructural facilities such as spacious classrooms, departmental laboratories, a well-stocked library, an auditorium, well-equipped seminar halls, hostel accommodation, a canteen, and transport services.

TAC SC, Madurai offers a plethora of courses under arts, science, commerce, and management faculties such as B.A, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc, and BCA at the undergraduate level and MBA at the postgraduate level. TAC SC, Madurai follows an online method of admission where selections are based on the candidate’s fulfilment of the merit and eligibility criteria. Candidates applying for B.A, B.Sc, BBA and B.Com courses must have passed their higher secondary examinations from a recognized board in the relevant stream. Aspiring postgraduate applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with the respective courses or subjects corresponding to the concerned department. Shortlisted applicants are invited by TAC SC, Madurai’s faculty members for an interview before the final selection.

The placement cell arranges campus interviews and placement drives and runs placement-related training and awareness programmes on the TAC SC, Madurai for the benefit of students in the aided and self-financed streams. TAC SC, Madurai also has an NSS and NCC programme dedicated to serving the community. A plethora of sports and games such as football, volleyball, cricket, and basketball are played on campus to maintain students’ physical fitness. TAC SC, Madurai has a green club working towards increased environmental awareness and upliftment of the community. The Physics Postgraduate and Research Department of TAC SC, Madurai has a unique initiative called the Astro Club; the college also has a women’s forum and promotes various skill development activities to ensure a well-rounded educational experience for students.

Admission Procedure

The American College - Satellite Campus, Madurai follow an online method of admission. Applicants to TAC SC, Madurai are selected based on their merit and eligibility criteria. TAC SC, Madurai offers Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses under the faculty of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management. Aspiring B.A, BBA and B.Com (Undergraduate) applicants to TAC SC, Madurai must have passed Hiigher Secondary Examination from any recognized board from any stream and with Commerce subjects respectively. Aspiring B.Sc applicants to TAC SC, Madurai must have passed Higher econdary Examination from any recognized board with respecitve subjects in the field of Science according to the concerned department.
