Established in 2012, the Tamil Nadu National Law University, Tiruchirappalli (TNNLU Tiruchirappalli) aims at providing quality legal education at a global level and producing graduates who are independent, critical thinkers as well as socially responsible lawyers. TNNLU Tiruchirappalli is the brainchild of the then Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the late, Dr. J. Jayalalithaa who laid the foundation stone on February 13, 2012. TNNLU Tiruchirappalli is a University Grants Commission (UGC) approved University. TNNLU Tiruchirappalli is affiliated with the Bar Council of India (BCI) which has granted recognition to the University as a Center for Legal Education. TNNLU Tiruchirappalli is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities. At present, TNNLU Tiruchirappalli has 37 faculty members who hail from diverse backgrounds. They teach and interact with the students even beyond class hours.
TNNLU Tiruchirappalli offers two 5 year courses at the undergraduate level. TNNLU Tiruchirappalli provides the degree B.A LL.B(Hons.) (Integrated) and B.Com LL.B (Hons.) (Integrated). The candidates who apply to TNNLU Tiruchirappalli must have passed their 10+2 examinations.
The admission to TNNLU Tiruchirappalli is based solely on the scores obtained through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). TNNLU Tiruchirappalli also provides scholarships to eligible students based on their family’s financial capabilities. A full or partial waiver of fees and/or charges is provided by the TNNLU Financial Assistance Scheme for a portion or the entirety of the study period.
TNNLU Tiruchirappalli assists the students by providing internships in various law firms, companies, etc and has an Internship and Placement Committee that oversees the placement of interested candidates and coordinates pre-placement interviews.
TNNLU Tiruchirappalli Library is a three-storey block that has a well-stocked collection of texts, reference books, law reports, etc in the mode of print resources. There is also an e-library which is also accessible remotely. The Library also has a Moot Court Hall and a Legal History Museum. TNNLU Tiruchirappalli is a fully residential University and has separate hostels for male and female students. There are various committees to look after the general welfare of the students. TNNLU Tiruchirappalli also has the necessary infrastructure to host both indoor and outdoor games. There are gym facilities, canteen, a bank with an ATM, a Post Office, a Guest House etc. for the convenience of the students.
The TNNLU Tiruchirappalli campus is Wi-Fi enabled with smooth connectivity. TNNLU Tiruchirappalli has an auditorium, multi-purpose halls and other facilities for organising various programmes and events. The classrooms are well-equipped with modern teaching facilities like various projectors, white boards etc.

Admission Procedure
The Tamil Nadu National Law University, Tiruchirappalli offers law programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. TNNLU Tiruchirappalli offers a five-year B.A. LLB (Hons.) and B.Com. LLB (Hons.) courses at the undergraduate level. Admission to all TNNLU Tiruchirappalli programs is based on Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) scores, according to the TNNLU Tiruchirappalli admission process.
TNNLU Tiruchirappalli also provides a postgraduate degree Master of Law (LL.M ). Interested candidates can apply through their official website. For an LL.M degree candidate must qualify for an entrance examination Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Tamil Nadu National Law University, Tiruchirappalli conduct PhD admission process via PhD Entrance Test. Final admission is based on a personal interview and merit basis.
Faculty
The Tamil Nadu National Law University, Tiruchirappalli currently has about 37 faculty members from across the country. The faculty members who are available outside of class hours bring rich experience from their diverse backgrounds, dynamism, commitment, and, most importantly, empathy to make the association with TNNLU Tiruchirappalli meaningful and memorable. Every faculty member is well aware of and readily acknowledges the multifaceted nature of each of the students admitted to TNNLU Tiruchirappalli.
Placements
The Tamil Nadu National Law University, Tiruchirappalli provides placements for all undergraduate and graduate programs. TNNLU Tiruchirappalli has a Career Services Office, that coordinates pre-placement interviews between recruiters and interested candidates. Aside from placements, TNNLU Tiruchirappalli also offers internships at various law firms, corporations, and other organizations.
Scholarships
TNNLU Financial Assistance Scheme provides a full or partial waiver of fees and/or charges for the entire or a portion of the program of study based on a student's family's financial ability. Eligible students are encouraged to apply for these schemes as well as other scholarships offered by the Union of India and their respective states.
