Symbiosis School of Visual Arts and Photography, (SSVAP) Pune, established in 2011, is situated on a scenic hilltop campus at Symbiosis International University, Lavale in Pune.
SSVAP Pune offers two degrees – BA in visual arts and photography and diploma in digital cinematography. The BA degree is an undergraduate 3 years programme offering a total of three photography major specializations such as Commercial Photography, Photojournalism and Documentary Photography and Wildlife and travel photography along with two non-photography minor specializationssuch as Film techniques and Cinematography Visual effects. The diploma in Digital Cinematography is a 1 year programme offering various practical oriented courses to students.
The backbone of SSVAP Pune is its highly skilled faculty and their unique pedagogy. SSVAP Pune offers a holistic approach in training students as per the professional industry standards. The pedagogy is an amalgamation of research oriented theoretical foundations with practical on-field experience, short field visits and long study tours. The in-house faculty are industry professionals – photographers, artists, graphic designers and film-makers who orient their professional skills towards matching up with the policy of outcome based education offered at SIU.
SSVAP Pune provides the best available infrastructural support to ensure the all-round development of the students. The Central Library at SSVAP Pune has a collection of over 20000 books, journals, magazines, and other related texts. There are 3 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels at SSVAP Pune where the students are accommodated. SSVAP Pune conducts its regular classes in spacious studios. There are a total of 4 studios with state-of-art technology and camera equipment. Apart from the studios, SSVAP Pune also has research incubation centres, dark room procession centres and digital post-production laboratory. The Campus also has a cafeteria and a sprawling sports arena for the facilities to be availed by the students and staff.

Admission Procedure
Symbiosis School of Visual Arts and Photography, Pune offers an online admission procedure for both the degree and diploma programmes. The admission eligibility criteria for candidates requires a pass degree from the 12 th standard or Diploma equivalent at a recognized university or board. The final selection procedure is based on Creative Visualization and Personal Interaction, which judges candidate’s capabilities on two grounds – scope of visual creativity and personal interviews.
