Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune (SCMS Pune), was set up in the year 2004 and is a Department of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
The B.B.A program is a full-time, four-year graduation program spread over eight semesters which aims at transforming a student into a socially responsible global corporate citizen. This program with its intensive and updated syllabus, skill building, research orientation and a wide range of additional modules would indeed enable the students in the next career step of their choice i.e. employment, entrepreneurship or higher studies in premium business schools in India and abroad.
SCMS Pune had been following the cafeteria curriculum from the Academic Year 2011-12. The Cafeteria curriculum had been designed to allow flexibility to the students to take up courses of their choice resulting in the award of a general B.B.A or B.B.A with single or dual specialization. Keeping in line with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, SCMS Pune has transitioned to the recently formulated student-centric CCFUP (Curriculum and Credit Framework for Undergraduate Programs) by the UGC. The CCFUP incorporates a flexible choice-based credit system, multidisciplinary approach, and multiple entry and exit options. Over the past years, the SCMS Pune has attracted students not only from different parts of India but also from different countries. As of now, there are students from 18 countries studying at SCMS Pune.
The rich diversity provides an extremely varied and multi-cultural exposure to all the students. The learning experience is further enriched by a multitude of clubs like – dramatics, music, business games, entrepreneurship and social initiatives, which are all run by the students themselves and cater to the collective need for individual expression of creativity and well-being. This also organically prepares the students to take on bigger roles and responsibilities in the future. SCMS Pune also provides opportunities for International Exposure through the University’s Global Immersion Programme (GIP). Students during the course of the eight semesters at SCMS Pune can also choose to undertake courses for twelve credits in any one of the University’s partner Universities abroad.
SCMS Pune was one of the first Institutes to initiate the process of COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) SCMS Collaborated with Bridge Valley Community and Technical College, US and now with Technical College, FATEC, Centro PAULO SOUZA FATEC, Brazil and completed online projects in the subject areas like: Economics, Accountancy, Marketing & Human Resource.
The track record for placements has been rising over the years. Students can choose from Multinational Companies to Start-ups; SCMS-Pune is the place to be in the placement season. Some of the companies which periodically visit SCMS Pune for the purpose of offering campus recruitment to the students include: KPMG, PWC, Accenture, Deloitte, Wipro, ICICI Bank, Credit Suisse, TresVista, Zomato, MGH Group, Northern Trust, GOMO Group, Planet Spark, Zocdoc, and others. SCMS Pune has a dedicated Placement Division which hand holds the students right from the start to the final selection process.
Students at SCMS Pune are not just academically brilliant but also develop sensitivity and respect for the community around them. The Initiate Club is instrumental in undertaking these activities. Over the years, the College Festival of SCMS Pune, Sympulse which started off as humble celebration of the campus spirit and bonhomie has grown into spectacular extravaganza which draws thousands of students from across India and abroad. It is one of the much-awaited college festivals not only because of the scale at which it is held but because of the activities, experiences and the way it is organized. The festival is managed by the students, which also gives them the live experience in management lessons.

Admission Procedure
Candidates seeking admission to Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune should have passed 10+2 or equivalent course in any discipline from any recognized Board / Council / University with minimum 50% marks for general (open) category and 45% marks for students of SC and ST category. The final selection is based on the performance of the candidate in the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) conducted by the University and the Personal Interview & Writing Ability Test conducted by SCMS Pune. The final selection of the candidates is also on the basis of the merit list drawn out of the results of the selection process through SET and PIWAT (SET score 50% and PIWAT 50%).

Accordingly, placement is not a mere end goal, but an entire process where students must be equipped with all the necessary skills required in the corporate world. Thus, the students registering for placements undergo extensive training ranging from career guidance to soft-skill building. This enhances their confidence, sharpens their existing qualities and adds to their overall skill set, helping them perform better at the time of recruitments. Since its inception, SCMS, Pune has seen the presence of many successful companies who have offered the students with positions in major domains such as human resources, marketing, consultancy, advertising and finance.
