Syamaprasad College, Kolkata (SCK) is a government undergraduate college affiliated with the University of Calcutta (CU), West Bengal. SCK was established in 1945 by the eponymous Dr. Syamaprasad Mukherjee after the culmination of the second world war and traces its genesis back to the evening section of the Asutosh College of Commerce. The college acquired independent status from UGC with the University of Calcutta’s approval and affiliation and was formally renamed into Syamaprasad College, Kolkata in 1962 in honour of the college founder and ex-vice chancellor of the University of Calcutta, Dr. Syamaprasad Mukherjee. SCK is a University Grants Commission (UGC)-approved institution headed by president Dipak Kar and vice-principal-secretary Tanmoy Biswas.
