Established in 2009, Swami Vivekananda Institute of Modern Science (SVIMS), Kolkata is an institution which aims to manifest the overall development of the students.

The highly qualified and experienced faculty members of the SVIMS are devoted to guide the students to excellence. The faculty members are quite reputed and get regularly invited to seminars and conferences. SVIMS also has a feedback committee to provide feedback to the students and their parents. SVIMS offers five courses at the undergraduate level. They include a 3-year course in each of the degrees of BBA(Hons.), BCA(Hons.), BSC(Hons.) in Microbiology, BSC(Hons.) in Biotechnology and a 4-year course in the degree of BTTM(Hons.) in Travel and Tourism.
The candidates seeking admission to SVIMS should have passed their 10+2 board examinations from a recognized Board or Council in India. The campus of SVIMS, Kolkata is well equipped with a lot of facilities. The state-of-the-art library is semi-computerized and the users can also access the e-journals as well as OPAC, Internet, Reprographics, and CD-ROM the library. SVIMS has separate well-furnished hostels for male and female students which also provide mess facilities for clean and healthy food. SVIMS is WiFi enabled with smart classrooms encouraging participation from the students. The SVIMS campus also has a number of well-equipped laboratories containing the latest equipment. The computer lab is assisted with a separate computer center to help the students with their projects and presentations. SVIMS also has air-conditioned seminar halls with modern audio-visual facilities. Other facilities include a canteen serving healthy food, infrastructure for various games and also medical facilities which also encapsulates regular checkups by the College Doctor.
