State Institute of Physical Education For Women, Kolkata (SIPEW Kolkata) was established in 1975 and is a premier institution that provides quality education in the field of physical education to female students. SIPEW Kolkata is affiliated with the University of Calcutta. 

The Institution offers a UG course and a PG course in physical education. Candidates who are seeking admission into SIPEW Kolkata can apply through their official website. The institute conducts entrance tests for both the 2-year UG and PG courses. After the publication of the results, the students will be selected based on their performance in the examination. 

SIPEW Kolkata has a faculty experienced in distinct sports and physical education. They nurture the students and ensure growth in their respective fields. 

SIPEW Kolkata has good sporting infrastructural facilities for its students. The Institute consists of a large multipurpose playground with a 200 MTS track along with one gymnasium cum multipurpose hall, one well-equipped gymnasium, one tennis/badminton court, one football ground, facilities for kho-kho and kabaddi, and, one volleyball/throwball court.  

SIPEW Kolkata provides separate hostel facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The hostel for UG students has an intake of 60 students, and the hostel for PG students has an intake of 50 students. The Institute's campus consists of advanced laboratories equipped with modern technologies. It consists of an Anatomy and Physiology lab, an Anthropometry and Physiotherapy lab, an Information and Communication Technology Lab, and a Human Performance and Biomechanics lab. SIPEW Kolkata consists of a library that has a collection of 7285 books and 10 journals. Important lectures, meetings, seminars, and workshops conducted at the campus seminar hall.
