Established in 1955 and located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, St. Xavier’s College (SXC) is the sole grant-in-aid Christian minority institution of higher education in Ahmedabad run by Society of Jesus. It has been approved by the UGC.
SXC Ahmedabad offers undergraduate courses in Economics, Gujarati, Hindi, English, Psychology, Sanskrit, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Electronics, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Zoology, Commerce, and Computer Sciences. The admissions are conducted online.To apply for their undergraduate degrees, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course in which the candidate is applying for. The candidate has to go through the online admission portal on the website where they have to register themselves, fill the application form, upload the required documents and have to submit the application form there for the course in which the candidate is applying for. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course, all students must have cleared their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Applicants are judged purely on the basis of their merit. The labs at SXC Ahmedabad include Plant Tissue Culture Lab, Super Computer Lab, Theoretical Physics Lab, Xavier Laboratory for Research and Development (XLRD). There is a canteen for students and staff that serves hygienic food at affordable prices, there is 24*7 medical support, smart classrooms with projectors, large auditoriums for seminars, and separate hostel and accommodation facilities for boys and girls.
