Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Vishwa Mahavidyalaya, Kancheepuram (SCSVM Kancheepuram) was founded with the blessings of Their Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji and Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamiji, and it was designated as a Deemed University in 1993. The 50-acre SCSVM Kancheepuram was established in 1993 under the auspices of the Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Charitable Trust and is situated near Mathur, about 4 kilometers from Kanchipuram.

It has a sizable library with more than 191000 books and monographs covering a variety of topics in both Indian and foreign languages. Its manuscript department, which contains more than 5000 unique manuscripts, was opened in 2000 by Shri P. V. Narasimha Rao, who was India's prime minister at the time. The center has been designated as one of the Manuscript Resource Centers by the Government of India's National Mission for Manuscripts. Additionally, there is a well-equipped boys' and girls' hostel, a medical center, a student community center, a bank, an ATM, a canteen, a gym, Wi-Fi, and a bus facility.
The goal of the training and placement cell of SCSVM Kancheepuram is to support students' objectives and help them begin to build careers rather than merely jobs. The placement section serves as a link between the students, academic divisions, and businesses. To help students identify and define their professional objectives, the cell first held career advising and counseling meetings with business experts. This would make it easier for the cell to identify its professional needs and match them with the necessary training and upskilling opportunities.
