Established by the Society of The Sacred Heart of Jesus the Sophia College, Mumbai (SC Mumbai) laid its foundational stone in 1941. SC Mumbai aims to uplift women’s education to transform them and the society. Affiliated to the University of Mumbai the college is approved by the University Grants Commission. The experienced faculty members of SC Mumbai deliver knowledge to upscale students as per the industry needs.

At present the SC Mumbai offers undergraduate courses in: Economics, English, Hindi, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Mass Media and ​​Information Technology. Final admissions at SC Mumbai are granted strictly on the basis of merit. Students willing to take admission are required to match the eligibility criteria of their course. SC Mumbai also provides scholarships based on merits. The placement cell provides a variety of employment and outreach programmes. Internships with top notch brands are also offered to the students.

Admission Procedure

Admission to the undergraduate programmes of Sophia College, Mumbai is done on the basis of the merit lists prepared by the college itself based on the marks or percentages of the applying students in the previous academic qualifications. To apply for their undergraduate degrees like B.A, B.Sc, candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course in which the candidate is applying for. The candidate has to go through the online admission process on the website where they have to upload the scanned copies of required documents and they have to submit the application form there for the course in which the candidate is applying for. But, apart from that, all students need to pass their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. SC Mumbai is a girls college, therefore only females can apply for the courses in this college.
