For undergraduate courses, candidates who have passed the intermediate or 10+2 from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to apply. Admission is based upon the marks secured from JEE or theSMIT, Rangpo offline examination. For postgraduate courses, the candidates must have an undergraduate degree in their discipline or equivalent.

SMIT, Rangpo Central Library is the only library in Majitar, Rangpo region. SMIT, Rangpo is a fully residential institute that provides separate accommodation facilities for both girls and boys. The hostels are well-built, fully furnished, and have twin-sharing facilities with attached bathrooms. Students are ensured non-interrupted water supply and electricity throughout the year. The hostels have separate mess and canteen for girls and boys that serve delicious, hygienic, and nutritious vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Night canteens are available at the hostel. The campus hostels also have 24x7 wifi support for students.
The available outdoor sporting facilities include cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, track & field, and tennis. Every outdoor playground/court has been provided with flood lights. The college’s indoor sports complex consists of a swimming pool and facilities for games such as basketball, a bowling alley, aerobics, snooker, table tennis, and badminton.
To provide the necessary attention to medical situations, the college has a 24/7 Health Center. Admission Procedure
Students who are interested in seeking admission at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Rangpo may do so by applying from the website of SMIT. A candidate who has passed the intermediate or 10+2 from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is eligible to apply. SMIT Rangpo offers admission to postgraduate programmes in M.Tech, MBA, MCA, and M.Sc. Candidates for the M.Tech programme must hold a BE or B. Tech in the relevant branch with a minimum of 55% overall and valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)/SMIT Entrance Exam results. Management Aptitude Test in Engineering (MAT) & Common Admission Test (CAT) scores or scores on university admission tests, or 50% of a Bachelor's degree in any discipline, are required of MBA candidates.
