SMIMS, Gangtok provides excellent accommodation facilities to the students to acclimatize the atmosphere. The hostel’s amenities and ambience will never make the students feel like they are away from home. Men and women have separate hostels with the latest equipment, furnished rooms, and a Mess that serves a variety of delicious and hygienic food to cater to the tastes and preferences of the students. Other amenities include 24-hour uninterrupted wifi, power and water supply, a spacious dining hall, a gymnasium, a badminton court, and a TV viewing room. Outside the hostel compound, there is a well-maintained basketball and volleyball court.
A healthy lifestyle can be achieved when there is a balance between academics and sports. SMIMS, Gangtok emphasizes the importance of having a healthy body and encourages the students to participate in the numerous sporting events organised by the college. The college has outdoor sporting facilities for a variety of games such as a basketball court, a badminton court, and a tennis court. Apart from these courts it also has outdoor sporting grounds for throwball, volleyball, kabaddi, basketball, and kho-kho. The college is also constructing two cricket pitches to attract young talents.
Students of SMIMS, Gangtok are treated at the Central Referral Hospital, which is an amalgamation of state-of-the-art equipment, highly talented medical specialists, and support services. The hospital houses a 24-hour emergency facility with life support equipment and facilities of ICU, CCU, SICU, and NICU. It provides services like CT Scans, MRIs, Ultrasounds, Fluoroscopy, Digital X-rays, EEG, and much more. Students are also covered by the Medical Insurance Scheme (Medicare) provided by SMIMS, Gangtok.
The 750-seater well-designed auditorium is used to organise numerous cultural events and functions. Important seminars, meetings, conferences, and state and national-level events are arranged at the seminar and conference halls.
The campus has spacious and properly ventilated classrooms that provide a pleasant ambience for the teaching-learning experience. Modern technologies are equipped in the classrooms to facilitate a higher-quality educational experience. The department-specific labs are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, gadgets, and apparatus to ensure students are making the best of their practical classes.
