School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi (SPA Delhi) began modestly in 1941 as the Delhi Polytechnic's Department of Architecture. Later, SPA Delhi joined forces with the School of Town and Country Planning, which had been founded in 1955 by the Government of India to offer facilities for regional, urban, and rural planning, and was connected with the University of Delhi. In 1959, SPA Delhi underwent a name change to become the School of Planning and Architecture. SPA Delhi was given the designation of "Deemed to be a University" by the Government of India in 1979 in recognition of the highly specialized subjects in which it had achieved renown. With this new standing, SPA Delhi expanded its horizons by launching fresh academic and extension programs and encouraging research and consulting initiatives. In 2015, SPA Delhi received official recognition as "An Institute of National Importance under an Act of Parliament".

SPA Delhi is approved by AICTE. SPA Delhi offers B.Arch, B.P + MP, M.Arch, MD, MP, MBEM, and Ph.D. degrees. Admission to SPA Delhi is made online, and the application form can be obtained on the college's website. SPA Delhi has a dedicated and trained faculty. The faculty of SPA Delhi work incredibly hard to always offer their best effort in order to maintain the lofty position that SPA Delhi has attained. SPA Delhi's highly qualified and enthusiastic faculty members teach the students knowledge and professional skills while possessing a variety of specializations.

The library of SPA Delhi subscribes to 81 print and online journals and databases, including JSTOR, which provides access to more than 2065 e-journals that have been archived, and Indiastat, the most complete online source for secondary-level socioeconomic statistics about India and its six geographical regions, 31 states, and 19 sectors. The OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogues) feature of the library allows users to browse and do searches on book, thesis, and dissertation databases. The Audio Visual Unit offers audio and visual services such as video and still photography filming, etc., to cover a range of academic activities of the school's Departments of Studies, including prepared digital slides, jury exams, and special lecture addresses. The workshop has everything everyone needs. carpentry subcategories, machine tooling, etc.

SPA Delhi has a Placement Cell that serves as a bridge between students and businesses. It coordinates on-campus employment. Both students and businesses must abide by the SPA Delhi placement policy. The students of SPA Delhi get placed in companies Ernst & Young, Deloitte, Infosys, IPE Global Ltd, PwC, JLL India, HUDCO, Whirlpool, Fastrack, Godrej & Boyce, The World Bank, etc. For non-sponsored category students admitted to Master's degree programs having acceptable GATE and CEED scores at the time of admission, a small number of Scholarships are offered on merit by SPA Delhi, subject to the terms and circumstances established by the Government of India and the School from time to time.

Admission Procedure

School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi offers B.Arch, B.Plan+M.Plan, M.Arch, MD, MP, MBEM, and Ph.D degrees. Students must pass the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), to be admitted to the Bachelor's degree programme in architecture and planning.  Applicants should consult the NTA website for more information regarding admission to the bachelor's degree programme in architecture and planning. According to a merit list created based on the applicant's overall Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) score, applicants are awarded admission to a certain programme in serial order. Candidates who meet the requirements can download an application form from the college's website and send it to the section officer by registered or expedited mail.
