SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack is situated on a sprawling campus spanning 101 acres in Mangalbag, Cuttack in the state of Odisha. The medical college boasts state-of-the-art academic facilities alongside competent hospital medical facilities equipped to provide high-quality tertiary care services including speciality as well as super-specialty services to patients free of cost. The college campus is also equipped with facilities for physically challenged students to provide an inclusive and accessible experience for all students; these facilities include ramps and lifts, walking aids, wheelchairs and separate toilets designed for the use of physically challenged students.
SCB MCH, Cuttack houses well-equipped classrooms, course-specific laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art modern facilities, a well-equipped and spacious auditorium, and a well-maintained canteen serving hygienic and diverse food items to students. SCB MCH, Cuttack has residential and accommodation facilities with separate fully furnished hostels accommodating both boys and girls. Each hostel is equipped with a reading room and a TV room.
The campus boasts a well-stocked and spacious student library with air-conditioning facilities. The library is equipped with a seating capacity of over 500 students. There are interior and exterior reading areas and separate sections in the library for undergraduate and postgraduate students/faculty. The library houses a wide collection of study and research materials including 11,499 textbooks, 10379 reference books, 43 foreign journals, and 18 Indian journals. The library also has digital library facilities accommodating as many as 11,000 e-journals, 2,000 e-books, and 1800 e-theses. The college’s central library was declared a “resource library” in the eastern region of the country by the Indian government in 1993 and stands as one of the leading referral medical libraries in Odisha.
The campus also has a telemedicine centre, established in collaboration with ISRO and Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow in 2001. With rising medical demands and requirements, the bed strength of the institute’s hospital has been raised over the years, starting with 215 beds in 1993 to a staggering 2132 beds in present times. Other services and facilities offered in the SCB MCH, Cuttack campus include a general and super-speciality OPD, an indoor patient department, a casualty and emergency department, a day-care centre, OT services, and diagnostic services.
