Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS Lucknow), located in Lucknow, established in the year 1983 is one of the most prominent medical sciences institutes across the country.

About 100 faculty members from 20 academic departments comprise the SGPGIMS Lucknow. The departmental duties include providing instruction, training, patient care, and research.

The undergraduate courses offered by the autonomous institute of SGPGIMS Lucknow are as follows Bachelor of Physiotherapy; Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Anaesthesia Technology, Imaging Technology, Hematology, Operation Theatre Technology, Perfusion Technology, Renal Dialysis Technology, Radiotherapy Technology and Respiratory Care Technology.

To get admission to the SGPGIMS Lucknow, students are required to appear for an entrance examination conducted by the institute. Those who will be qualified in the written examination will be called in for further admission procedures.

The academic amenities offered by the SGPGIMS Lucknow to students include the following, a well-stocked library with about 16,000 books. Nearly 450 scientific journals are available through the library's subscription service. The library offers other services such as lending library books and journals, photocopying, and access to the internet for literature searches, a hospital-wide computer network that connects over 2000 computers throughout the hospital and departments. Apart from normal lab equipment, it now has high-end complex equipment such as a Next-generation sequencing system (NGS), Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC/MS), and Genetic Analyzer (24-capillary sequencing device), high-speed internet on the campus, an auditorium with a seating capacity of about 140 people. A new main auditorium complex is now being built. In addition, each department had a seminar room or rooms where departmental teaching activities may take place.

Admission Procedure

The Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences uses an entrance examination-based admission system for undergraduate programmes such as B.Sc in nursing and 9 other medical technology courses, as well as BPT and postgraduate courses. Candidates must visit the SGPGIMS Lucknow's official website to obtain the necessary information regarding the admission procedure, as well as the eligibility criteria for all courses. The final procedure is held offline after the declaration of the entrance exam results.

 

 

 

SGPIMS Lucknow also provide post-graduate degree MD /MS / DM/ M.CH / PhD degree programmes with various specializations. Interested candidates can apply through their official website. For a post-graduate degree candidate must meet all eligibility criteria. For their postgraduate ( MD/MS) degree candidate must qualify National Eligibility Entrance Test (Postgraduate) NEET-PGentrance examination. For (DM/M.ch) degree candidates must qualify National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Super Speciality Courses) NEET SS. SGPIMS Lucknow conducts P.hD admission process via an entrance examination with a director's interview panel or the Candidate appears for CSIR/UGC Entrance examination.
