Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira (RMV), Howrah was established in 1960 with the major goal of providing Swamiji’s thoughts, ideals and ethics among young minds in order to create a better world for tomorrow. The private college which is affiliated to Calcutta University has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). At RMV, Howrah students are not only provided with knowledge but also an all-around education in an atmosphere of serenity, discipline, and moral purity by a well-versed faculty.
RMV, Howrah is an all-boys college that offers multiple undergraduate courses like B.A (Hons.) in Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Philosophy; B.Sc (Hons.) in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Microbiology, Zoology, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, and Economics. Apart from this, there is an availability of diploma courses like Diploma in Tourism and Travel, Diploma in Photography. Admission to a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses is based on scores obtained in an entrance examination conducted by the college. Selected candidates have to appear for an interview at the college. The ultimate admission process is based on the results of both the admission test and interview.
Needy and meritorious students can avail themselves of full-time and partial scholarships from RMV, Howrah to enhance their opportunities. Central government scholarship schemes like KVPY and INSPIRE are also available for students.

Admission Procedure
Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Howrah admits students to a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The admission will be based on the results of an entrance exam, followed by an interview conducted by RMV. To be admitted to the B.A. and B.Sc. programs, the shortlisted candidates must appear and pass an admission test before being interviewed by the college. The admission test and interview results will be used to make the final decision. It is an all-boys college.
RMV Howrah also offers M.A., M.Sc, M.Phil, and PhD. in a different specialisation. A candidate for an M.Phil and PhD programme candidate should have a Master's degree, or a degree equivalent, with at least 55% overall in order to be considered. To be eligible for admission to the M.A. or M.Sc. program, an admission test and /or interview are conducted by the respective departmental teachers.
