The 59,000-square-foot Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Information Technology and Biotechnology, Pune features a large architecture.
RGIITB Pune has spacious architecture built in an area of 59,000 square ft. RGIITB Pune houses five departments i.e. Department of Microbial Biotechnology, the Department of Biochemical Sciences, the Department of Plant Biotechnology, the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, and the Department of Bioinformatics. Each department has separate laboratories for conducting undergraduate and post-graduate practicals and research.
RGIITB Pune has well-equipped computer laboratories and spacious classrooms for undergraduate and postgraduate students with an LCD facility. All of RGIITB Pune's laboratories are furnished with cutting-edge equipment, including UV-Visible Spectrophotometers, Gel documentation units, PCR machines, Laminar air flow units, Microtomes, CO incubators, Inverted Microscopes, etc., to provide students with two hands-on training sessions for all practical courses. The strength of RGIITB Pune is in providing hands-on training in plant and animal tissue culture in independent facilities equipped with cutting-edge technology. Advanced bioinformatics labs with genomic servers and computing clusters with 4 Mbps internet connectivity are available at the campus.
The library offers a large collection of printed and digital books and journals. For students to access various scholarly books, journals, and other publications, the RGIITB Pune library is the ideal haven. Students use the library for reading, research, and other academic purposes. Students currently have access to a good library with internet connectivity, INFLIBNET, more than 2650 books, and 26 magazines. Throughout the academic years, RGIITB Pune routinely hosts a number of seminars and conferences.
The auditorium/conference/seminar halls have been set up with plenty of seating and all of the required hardware. The students at RGIITB Pune have access to a limited number of hostel rooms.
