Established in 1994, Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore (PIMR Indore) in Indore was the first private business school in central India. PIMR Indore has since gained a reputation as a premier management institute in Madhya Pradesh and is funded by the Prestige Education Society, of which Chairman Padmashri Dr. N. N. Jain is also the chairman of Prestige Group of Industries. PIMR Indore has been granted autonomous status by the University Grant Commission (UGC) of India three times, starting in 2006. PIMR Indore is recognized by UGC under 2(f) and 12 (b), is approved by the AICTE and BCI, and is affiliated with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in Indore. Additionally, PIMR Indore is recognized as a research center.

The Faculty of PIMR Indore is a dedicated and highly trained team of professionals, devoted to providing students with the highest quality of education. The campus has a total of 66 classrooms that are well furnished, have natural lighting, and are designed to enable ICT. Additionally, there are 10 tutorial rooms for practical classes to be conducted. PIMR Indore also has a fully furnished auditorium with a seating capacity of around 240 people that has video conferencing facilities. The campus has four seminar halls designed for guest lectures, placement processes, conferences, seminars, and workshops. There is also a moot court designed for international courts. There is also an ultra-modern recording studio available, run by Prestige Media, which also operates an in-house radio. To provide students with a technical environment, PIMR Indore has five computer labs and one simulation lab equipped with the latest technology. PIMR Indore has three separate libraries that contain a vast collection of books, research papers, and journals that cater to the needs of students. For the physical well-being of students, PIMR Indore has adequate infrastructure, including outdoor cemented basketball courts, four indoor badminton courts, and fields for cricket and football. PIMR Indore also provides hostel facilities with a mess for students who require it.
