The infrastructure of Periyar University, Salem (PUS) is designed to support the academic and research needs of its students and faculty. The university campus is spread over an area of 100 acres and has a number of modern buildings and facilities. The university campus has several academic buildings that house the different departments and schools. The buildings are equipped with modern classrooms, lecture halls, and laboratories. PU, Salem houses separate hostels for male and female students. The hostels are spacious and provide comfortable accommodations for the students. Each hostel has a dining hall, reading room, and recreational facilities. The hostels also have round-the-clock security and medical facilities. PU, Salem has a number of sports facilities including a cricket ground, football ground, basketball court, volleyball court, running or jogging track, badminton court and indoor sports facilities along with an indoor gymnasium. The university encourages students to participate in sports and has a dedicated sports department to train and coach the students. The university has a computer centre with state-of-the-art computing facilities. The centre is equipped with high-speed internet connectivity and has a number of computer labs for the students to work on their projects and assignments. PU, Salem has a modern auditorium with a seating capacity of 1200. The auditorium is used for various academics.
