North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Itanagar (NERIST Itanagar), is a government institution established in 1984 and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). NERIST Itanagar is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is a Deemed to be a University. NERIST Itanagar offers various diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of Engineering, Technology, Business Administration and Science. Its diploma courses include Engineering, while its undergraduate courses include Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and Bachelor of Science (BSc). NERIST Itanagar's postgraduate course offerings include Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science (MSc), and NERIST Itanagar also provides doctoral PhD courses.

For medical emergencies, NERIST Itanagar provides medical facilities with trained doctors and nurses. In order to facilitate learning, NERIST Itanagar also has state-of-the-art classrooms and labs. Admission Procedure
North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Itanagar (NERIST Itanagar) provides admission to students based on their merit in the NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) which are conducted for students in three stages. NEE-I is conducted for students passing their 10th grade examination for entrance into the certificate course, NEE-II is conducted for students qualifying their 10+2 level examination for admission in diploma courses, while NEE-III is for diploma qualified students for admissions in undergraduate degree courses. Students can take admission at any stage and continue their education upto the doctoral Ph.D. level at NERIST Itanagar.

Placements
The Placement Cell of North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Itanagar (NERIST Itanagar) has been instrumental in facilitating placement, training, and career counselling to students in tune with changing times and industry demands. Aside from recruitment drives, the Cell also organises Industrial Training for B. Tech pre-final year students for 30 days or four weeks as part of the curriculum. These training programmes are typically scheduled during the summer vacations, when students are sent to reputable organisations across the country to gain hands-on experience and skills to supplement their theoretical knowledge. The Placement Cell is fully equipped to conduct on-campus recruitment drives, online interviews, and online screening tests as needed by visiting organisations.
