NC Basheerbagh was initially affiliated to the University of Madras and later became a constituent college of Osmania University in 1947. NC Basheerbagh is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and offers a wide array of courses ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate level.

Admission Procedure
Admissions to Nizam College, Basheerbagh (NC Basheerbagh), are based on students' merits in the entrance examination conducted by the Osmania University. The examination is followed by a counselling procedure, after which the list of selected students are published. Students need to qualify their 10+2 level examination in order to be eligible for admissions to NC Basheerbagh.
