Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha (NC Muvattupuzha) was established in 1953, and is managed by the Catholic Diocese of Kothamangalam. NC Muvattupuzha is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
NC Muvattupuzha offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses, including Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor in Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) and Bachelor of Vocational Studies (B.Voc), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Commerce (M.Com), Master in Computer Applications (MCA) and Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) courses.

Admission Procedure
Admissions to Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha take place via the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Students need to qualify their 10+2 level examination from a relevant stream in order to be eligible for the undergraduate courses at NC Muvattupuzha, bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks for postgraduate degrees and master's degree with 55% marks for doctoral Ph.D courses.
