Newman College (NCT) founded in 1964, is a catholic institution in Thodupuzha, Kerala. NCT is affiliated with Mahatama Gandhi University. NCT is a subsidized institution that also offers a few courses for IGNOU via distance education.
NCT provides undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in a variety of fields. Admission is made through the Under Graduate Centralized Admissions Process (UGCAP) and Post Graduate Centralized Admissions Process (PGCAP) based on the MG University's entrance exam.

Admission Procedure
Newman College, Thodupuzha follows an online process of admission. Admissions to NCT are mainly based on the merit and eligibility criteria of the applicants. NCT offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Diploma courses. Applicants applying for B.Sc courses must have passed (10+2) or any equivalent examination from the Science stream with the demanding criteria of PCM/PCB. B.Com applicants must have passed (10+2) or any equivalent examination from any recognized board from Commerce Stream. B.A applicants must have passed (10+2) or any equivalent examination from any recognized board from any stream.

The placement cell is dedicated to helping students develop their talents in the most effective way possible in addition to hosting placement drives for their benefit. The placement cell works to turn an average student into an exceptional employee with top-notch work ethics through a series of seminars and personality-building projects. The placement cell provides college students with sensitization, counselling, and assistance toward the accomplishment of their career aspirations. Liaison and faculty members from all departments assist the placement officer. The placement cell organises industry interfaces, placement drives, orientation, and training seminars.
Scholarships
Newman College, Thodupuzha offers Scholarships to students based on their merit and eligibility criteria. Scholarships, prizes etc. are awarded by various agencies to encourage talented and hard-working students. Eligibility National Merit Scholarship is awarded to students with the highest marks in the qualifying examination. Hindi Scholarship is awarded on the basis of Marks in Hindi at the qualifying exam. Sports Scholarship is offered to students with excellent performance in sports/games. Based on Academic merit, NCT offers State and District Merit Scholarships. University Merit Scholarship is awarded to students with Merit in each course individually. Toshio Deco Scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a Master in Science.
