Established in 1967, Nehru Memorial College, Tiruchirappalli (NMC Tiruchirappalli) was founded by the philanthropic Late Shri. Mookka Pillai in 1942 with the mission of spreading higher education. Located in a serene atmosphere with the stunning Pachamalai hills in the Eastern Ghats as its backdrop, NMC Tiruchirappalli provides an ideal environment for learners to pursue higher education. Affiliated with Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, NMC Tiruchirappalli received recognition from the University Grants Commission, New Delhi in 1969 under sections 2 (f) and 12(B).

NMC Tiruchirappalli boasts 40 classrooms that are equipped with ICT facilities to facilitate effective learning. Additionally, NMC Tiruchirappalli has 10 laboratories that are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and instruments to support physical science programs. The four computer laboratories also have modern equipment to support computer science programs. The library has 50,906 books, including textbooks and reference books. To cater to students' physical health and well-being, NMC Tiruchirappalli has an outdoor stadium with a gallery seating capacity of 1500 students. The stadium has a 400-meter athletic track, football, and cricket grounds (140x100 m), and gymnasiums separately for ladies and gents. The college also has a multipurpose auditorium that includes indoor badminton courts (2 numbers - 13.4x 6.1 m), a tennis court (23.77x 8.23 m), space for table tennis (3 boards), chess, space for yoga practice (yoga hall), and a store for sports equipment. NMC Tiruchirappalli has several playgrounds on campus, providing students with ample opportunities to engage in physical activities. To cater to large gatherings, NMC Tiruchirappalli has two fully air-conditioned seminar halls with a seating capacity of 300 and 200. NMC Tiruchirappalli's multipurpose hall, which has a seating capacity of 2000, is a prime example of the college's commitment to providing top-notch infrastructure. NMC Tiruchirappalli's canteen is another aspect of its infrastructure worth mentioning. Additionally, NMC Tiruchirappalli provides wifi facilities to enable students to access the Internet and work on assignments and projects from anywhere on campus. NMC Tiruchirappalli is committed to the well-being of its students and has provided medical facilities on campus. The campus also has an ATM to facilitate financial transactions. Finally, NMC Tiruchirappalli has three hostels on campus to cater to the needs of outstation students.
