National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL Ranchi), located in Ranchi, was established in 2010. The autonomous university is dedicated to providing and disseminating judicial and legal institutional services and research for the betterment of society. NUSRL Ranchi is a government university, approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Students are assisted by a well-qualified faculty determined to impart quality education for students.

NUSRL Ranchi is an autonomous university that offers an undergraduate course of B.A. LL.B(Hons) with a duration of 5 years. Students who are seeking admission to NUSRL Ranchi must appear for the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) exam. Admissions are conducted online. Besides, students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Eligible candidates are provided with various scholarships. NUSRL Ranchi is co-ed and offers Merit Scholarships to meritorious students and Student Support Scholarships to the students belonging to SC, ST, OBC and General category based on low income criteria. Besides, there is an availability of financial aid for needy students as well.

Students are provided with excellent training by the placement committee at NUSRL Ranchi. UCO Bank, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Mumbai, L & T Finance Ltd, HDFC Bank Ltd. and Metropolitan Stock Exchange India Ltd. are among the top recruiters that take part in placement drives which observe the highest package of 10 LPA and an average of 5 LPA. Nearly 90 % of students are offered placement opportunities by NUSRL Ranchi placement committee every year. NUSRL Ranchi comprises of basic academic facilities such as a huge library with all the books related to the curriculum, an auditorium, air-conditioned smart classrooms, a moot court and on-campus Wi-Fi along with a hostel separate for boys and girls, a gymnasium and a cafeteria.

Admission Procedure

National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi’s admissions are conducted through an online application process. To apply for their undergraduate degree - B.A. LL.B(Hons), candidates must meet all the required eligibility requirements of the course for which the candidate is applying. The candidate has to go through the admission portal created for the candidates. Also, the most important part of eligibility is to have qualified for the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) exam. The NUSRL Ranchi also strictly follows the CLAT eligibility rules. But, apart from that, all students need to have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. NUSRL Ranchi is a co-ed university, anyone belonging to any gender can apply for the course. 

NUSRL Ranchi also offers one year LLM program and a PhD program. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in law and a valid score on Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) are eligible to apply for the LLM program.
