National Law University, Odisha (NLU Odisha), located in Cuttack, was established in 2009 with the major aim of serving the nation by producing professionals of advocacy and judicial services. The autonomous institution has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Bar Council of India (BCI) as well.

Besides, students can avail scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal.

Admission Procedure

Numerous undergraduate and post-graduate courses are available at National Law University, Odisha. Candidates can submit their applications for undergraduate courses via the CLAT website. Merit-based admission is used for the B.Voc course whereas entrance-based admission is used for other UG courses. Analysis of the Common Law Aptitude Test(CLAT) results is part of the selection process. Following the merit-cum-preference approach for CLAT candidates nationwide, a merit list is created based on performance in this exam, and admission is granted to the eligible candidates.

Candidates for the LLM programme must have completed the undergraduate appropriate programme (B.A.LL.B./B.B.A.LL.B./LL.B.) or an equivalent examination and received at least a 50% score. A Master's in Law from an accredited university with at least 55% of the required marks, or its equivalent in a grade, is required of applicants for admission to the PhD programme.
