The National Institute Of Technology, Sikkim was established in the year 2010 with a major aim to produce efficient young minds in the field of science and technology.
The NIT, Sikkim is an autonomous institute featuring a number of well-qualified faculty members who are dedicated to impart academic as well as practical knowledge to students.
The NIT, Sikkim is a government-run institute that offers multiple undergraduate courses such as B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Students willing to take admission are requested to pass 10+2 exams with necessary marks from any recognized board. Most importantly, candidates have to appear for the National Testing Agency's Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main).
A range of scholarship schemes are available too for encouragement of students. Spacious classrooms and department specific labs are among the major academic facilities that the NIT, Sikkim provides.

Admission Procedure
The National Institute Of Technology, Sikkim runs an admission procedure for the students (co-ed) in courses of Engineering (B.Tech) based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) via the JoSAA/CSAB portal. Candidates must go to the examination website's official webpage to receive the necessary information and apply. Following their participation, candidates must get the required qualifying marks to meet the NIT, Sikkim's cut-off to register for the appropriate course, followed by the candidates' final admission procedure with the admission fee payment.
NIT Sikkim also offers M.Tech, M.Sc, and PhD degrees. To be accepted into the M.Tech programme, applicants must have completed the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and have the required degree grades. The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) scores are used as the primary criterion for admission to all M.Sc. programmes. A master's degree in a relevant field with at least 60% of the necessary grades is required of students who would like to pursue a PhD.

The National Institute Of Technology, Sikkim has a group of faculty members who are highly qualified and skilled in order to give the students access to the necessary specialised academic material for a seamless and fulfilling teaching-learning experience. Placements
The National Institute Of Technology, Sikkim has a Training and Placement Cell that serves as the official link between corporations and students. Every academic year, the placement season starts in July and lasts through May. To help students achieve jobs at top-tier organisations like Amdocs, Bosch, DRDO, Dristi Software, Huawei, Inatech, IBM India Pvt. Ltd., Infosys, Intel, Intellect Design (A Polaris Group of Companies), etc. of their aspirations with adequate training and skill development combined with a competitive wage, the cell offers a seamless recruitment procedure.
