The National Institute of Technology, Puducherry was established in 2010. The NIT, Puducherry is dedicated to developing effective and responsible technocrafts for the well being of society.
The NIT, Puducherry features a group of expert faculty members who are extremely helpful. Students are assisted with well-researched resources, up-to-date curriculums. Teachers at the faculty guide students in an effective manner which helps them to be experienced enough to take on new challenges in the field of Engineering.
NIT, Puducherry is a co-ed institution which offers multiple undergraduate courses like B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. To get admission, candidates are required to meet all the eligibility criteria set by the prestigious institution including the necessary marks in 10+2 board exam and must qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination Mains (JEE – Mains) through JoSAA. Most importantly, 50% of the seats are previously reserved for aspirants from home states such as Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Yanam, and Andaman Nicobar.
Students are provided with a bunch of scholarships like the National Scholarship Program, Sh. Dorilal Agrawal Meritorious Scholarship-2021 for the physically challenged students and Postmetric Scholarship- Govt of Puducherry.
The Training and Placement Cell at NIT, Puducherry is in charge of administering all aspects of pre-placements training and campus placements for graduating students. Every year, students get placed in reputable companies such as Samsung, Snap Deal, Tejas Networks, Capgemini, Itron, and many others.
The amenities provided by the NIT, Puducherry include a traditional library with numerous books, journals and periodicals; a digital library with WIFI access; two boys’ hostel accommodations, course specific labs, indoor and outdoor sports facilities; a well-equipped health centre; spacious classrooms; shuttle services and hygienically maintained cafeteria.

Admission Procedure
The National Institute of Technology, Puducherry runs an admission procedure for the students (co-ed) in courses of Engineering (B.Tech) based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) via the JoSAA/CSAB portal. Candidates must go to the examination website's official webpage to receive the necessary information and apply. Following their participation, candidates must get the required qualifying marks to meet the NIT, Puducherry's cut-off in order to register in the appropriate course, which is followed by the candidates' final admission procedure with the admission fee payment.

The teachers effectively guide the students in making choices and taking action to advance in the direction of their destiny. Placements
The National Institute of Technology, Puducherry has a Training and Placement Cell that coordinates pre-placement training programmes and placement efforts with business entities, research institutions, and individuals. The faculty member is in charge of training and placement of the cell. Every year, representatives from all UG and PG departments of Science and Engineering courses in the final year are chosen to serve as student coordinators. For the seamless operation of the selection process, the committee works closely with companies like R&D including Samsung, Snap Deal, Tejas Networks, Capgemini, Itron, and many others.
