The National Institute of Technology, Mizoram (NITMZ) is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and is located in Aizawl, Mizoram. Established in 2010, NITMZ was declared an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The NITMZ provides 5 undergraduate courses with B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. All admissions to NITMZ are screened through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Applicants are required to qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains. After that, students are put through a counseling process. In order to be eligible for admission, applicants must have successfully completed a 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board.

NITMZ has an esteemed group of faculty members who are extremely skilled and experienced in order to give the students all the academic information they require for a seamless and enriching learning experience. The faculty aims to equip the students with all the necessary skills to succeed in their future workplaces. Their teaching methods include both theoretical and practical analysis.

NITMZ offers various scholarships under the National Scholarships Portal. They have a robust placement mechanism through which they guarantee students both full-time and internship opportunities. The students undergo a practical industrial training in their sixth semester to prepare them.

Graduates of NITMZ have found themselves in companies such as Infosys, TVS Motors, Wipro, IBM, Capgemini, and others.

NITMZ provides hostel accommodation separately for boys' and girls'. There is one girls hostel and four boys hostels. The hostels come with purified drinking water, 24*7 security, a generator, sanitation and cleaning service on all days, emergency vehicles, TV, sports and gym rooms, and buses for transportation. The campus has a large library with around 7000 academic books, journals, magazines as well as several e-resources and databases, course-specific laboratories, and a health care center to tend to students’ medical needs.

Admission Procedure

The National Institute of Technology, Mizoram runs an admission procedure for the students (co-ed) in courses of Engineering (B.Tech) based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) via the JoSAA/CSAB portal. Candidates must go to the examination website's official webpage to receive the necessary information and apply. Following their participation, candidates must get the required qualifying marks to meet the NIT Mizoram's cut-off to register for the appropriate course, followed by the candidates' final admission procedure with the admission fee payment.

NIT Mizoram also offers M.Tech and PhD programs. Candidates seeking admission to the M.Tech course must graduate with an engineering stream and a qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam. A master's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 60% is required for admission to a PhD programme.

The teachers' goal is to enable the students with all the necessary skills to succeed in the workplace.
