The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Manipur was established in 2010 with the objective to develop quality young entrepreneurs and technocrats who can contribute to the field of technology. The NIT, Manipur is a Government institute which has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The NIT, Manipur features a group of professional trainers and teachers who are dedicated to deliver the proper knowledge and expertise in engineering programmes. Students are provided with enough resources, both practical and theoretical, by the faculty.

NIT, Manipur is a co-ed institute which offers various undergraduate programmes like B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering, B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Students willing to take admission in NIT, Manipur must qualify for the JEE (Main) exam. Scores obtained in the JEE (Main) determine the allocation of seats for students. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) / Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) conducts a Common Counseling Process for students. Besides, students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education. Students (SC/ST/PH) shall get a full tuition fee waiver. Apart from this, students from economically weaker sections will get a tuition fee waiver depending on their family income.

Admission Procedure

The National Institute of Technology, Manipur runs an admission procedure for the students (co-ed) in courses of Engineering (B.Tech) based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) via the JoSAA/CSAB portal. Candidates must go to the examination website's official webpage to receive the necessary information and apply. Following their participation, candidates must get the required qualifying marks to meet the NITManipur's cut-off in order to register for the appropriate course, which is followed by the candidates' final admission procedure with the admission fee payment.

M. Tech, M.Sc., and PhD programmes with a variety of specialisations are offered by NITManipur as postgraduate degrees. Candidates must have passed the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and have the necessary graduation marks in order to get admitted to the M.Tech program. Students interested in pursuing a PhD must hold a master's or M.Phil. degree in a relevant field with the necessary grades.
