National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (NITK Surathkal) located in Surathkal, was established in 1960. Admission Procedure
National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal runs an admission procedure for the students (co-ed) in courses of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) via the JoSAA/CSAB portal. Candidates must go to the examination website's official webpage to receive the necessary information and apply. Following their participation, candidates must get the required qualifying marks to meet the NITK Surathkal cut-off to register for the appropriate course, followed by the candidates' final admission procedure with the admission fee payment.
Additionally, the NITK Surathkal offers Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Technology (M.Tech), M.Tech (Research), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Science (M.Sc.) M.Tech. and M.Tech (Research) students are admitted on the basis of their GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score. Admission to M.Sc. programmes is based on JAM test results from the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) exam and the Centralised Counselling for M.Sc. (CCMN) process. Admission to the MCA programme is based on the NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET), which is jointly administered by NITs. MBA admissions are based on scores obtained in Common Admission Test (CAT). A master's degree with a minimum 60% marks is required for admission to a PhD programme. PhD admissions are conducted on the basis of University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR NET).
