The National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur (NITH), established in the year 1986 is one of the country's thirty-one NITs and was founded as Regional Engineering College, a combined venture of the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Faculty members of the NITH, have a diverse range of abilities and experience in all the courses' disciplines and related subjects. They provide students with reliable information and resources about their fields of study, as well as suitable references, to support them in researching the courses and enhancing their theoretical and practical abilities, based on their years of experience in the subjects. The ultimate goal of the faculty members is to give students all the academic standards they need to excel in their chosen areas.

The undergraduate courses offered by the NITH include the following Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science & Engineering; Bachelor of Architecture; B.Tech+M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering. To get admission to the NITH candidates are required to qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains which is administered by Direct Admission to Students Abroad (DASA). Those who have qualified in the examination can visit the official website of the NITH and register on the portal. The approved candidates will be notified on their mobile number or email regarding the final admission procedures.
The NITH provides Government-issued scholarship schemes like Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme for J&K students, Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students, Prime Minister’s Merit Scholarship, Centrally sponsored Scholarship Scheme of Post Matric, etc. for the students.
The Training & Placement Cell of NITH provides extensive training on real-world challenges and also helps students in getting summer internship opportunities to have industrial exposure. Through the training and placement cell, top-tier organisations such as Accenture, Bloomberg, I&T Infotech, IBM, and others provide new chances.
NITH have 8 hostels for boys and 4 hostels for girls with different accommodation capacities; a yoga room; a table tennis court; laboratories with the latest technology.

Admission Procedure
The National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur runs an admission procedure for the students (co-ed) in courses of Engineering (B.Tech) and Architecture based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) via the JoSAA/CSAB portal. Candidates must go to the examination website's official webpage to receive the necessary information and apply. Following their participation, candidates must get the required qualifying marks to meet the NITH's cut-off in order to register in the appropriate course, which is followed by the candidates' final admission procedure with the admission fee payment.

The National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur invites applications from students studying in the institution to do Summer Training/Internship in the NITH's various departments/centers. Candidates can apply for a number of different projects. The applicant must submit a brief proposal outlining the project area in which he or she plans to intern or train at the NITH.
