The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Goa is one of the region's most prestigious technical institutes. NIT, Goa is a 'National Institute of National Importance' that was created in 2010 by an act of parliament (NIT act 2007). The NIT, Goa has a group of experienced faculty members who have academic research degrees in the course to provide students with complete knowledge and information that they may use in the future.

The professor provides useful materials as well as appropriate help in thoroughly explaining all the students' academic requirements. The NIT, Goa is an autonomous institute which has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

It offers the undergraduate courses which are as follows Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering & Mechanical Engineering. To get admission to NIT, Goa, candidates are required to qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and there’s also a scheme for Direct Admission to Students Abroad (DASA).

The Training & Placement Cell of NIT, Goa has been immensely dedicated to providing training and industry exposure to students to prepare them for real-world challenges. It also helps students find internships in companies, corporations, academics, non-governmental organisations, and organisations of national and international repute. Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), BHEL, NTPC, Philips, Siemens, Bosch, Amazon, and a number of other companies recruit students from NIT, Goa.

The facilities provided by the NIT, Goa to students include a traditional library Stocked with course-based books and other resources with 6598 books, 5 journals, etc, a digital library, 3 boys' and 1 girls' hostel with mess and Wifi connectivity; a sports complex with a football ground, a cricket field, a badminton, basketball, and volleyball court; Course based labs like Analog and Digital electronics lab, Microwave engineering lab, VLSI lab, etc along with 3 computer labs; spacious classrooms with Multimedia Projector, LAN & WiFi connectivity, etc; an ATM in the campus; conference, lecturer & seminar halls; a pocket-friendly & healthy cafeteria; WiFi-enabled campus; and m24*7 medical services.

Admission Procedure

The National Institute of Technology, Goa runs an admission procedure for the students (co-ed) in courses of Engineering (B.Tech) based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) via the JoSAA/CSAB portal. Candidates must go to the examination website's official webpage to receive the necessary information and apply. Following their participation, candidates must get the required qualifying marks to meet the NITGoa's cut-off in order to register for the appropriate course, which is followed by the candidates' final admission procedure with the admission fee payment.

Candidates with a B.E./B. A tech degree and a good Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score are required for enrollment in an M.Tech course. All National Institutes of Technology (NITs) will use Centralized Counselling for M.Tech. (CCMT) for admission to M.Tech programmes. Candidates for the PhD programme must have a master's degree and at least 60% overall.

Placements

The National Institute of Technology, Goa has a Training and Placement Cell that helps students find internships in companies, corporations, academics, non-governmental organisations, and organisations of national and international repute. Internships are available at some of the top academic institutions, multinational corporations, and government agencies. A total of 112 students interned at over 40 different organisations and businesses. The internship at CERN, where three students from each of the three areas interned for two months in Geneva, Switzerland, was the most important. Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), BHEL, NTPC, Philips, Siemens, Bosch, Amazon, and a number of other companies are also in the focus.
