National Institute of Technology, Agartala (NIT Agartala) is one of the most trusted names in the field of quality education. Established in 1965 with an aim of imparting more minute knowledge to students in the area of science and technology, the NIT Agartala offers experienced faculty members who are highly qualified to impart latest theoretical and practical knowledge to the students.
At present the courses offered by the NIT Agartala are B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering; B. Tech-M. Tech (dual degree ) in Engineering Physics, B.S-M.S (dual degree ) in Physics and B.S-M.S (Dual Degree) in Chemistry. Admissions at NIT Agartala are conducted via Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) in different undergraduate Engineering degrees. Students willing to take admission in the NIT Agartala are required to pass 10+2 examinations mandatorily with a minimum aggregate score to sit for the entrance exams. Qualified JEE candidates can further apply through the official website.
Numerous scholarships are also provided to physically disabled students and other SC and ST students. The placement cell of the NIT Agartala assists the students to get placed in top notch organisations like Google, Samsung, Accenture and many more.
The huge campus of NIT Agartala features a well stocked traditional library consisting of 34,000 books & 200 Journals. Facilities of digital library with photocopying, scanning and e-journal options are also available. A central computer laboratory with department modular ones are even present in the NIT Agartala. Students here can avail the bus services to travel to and fro. Senior Medical Officers, Pharmacists and other supporting staff are there to assist as and when their need arises. Separate hostels for boys and girls are provided by the NIT Agartala. A dedicated ATM of SBI is also present within the vicinity of the campus.

Admission Procedure
National Institute of Technology, Agartala runs an admission procedure for the students (co-ed) in courses of Engineering (B.Tech) and Dual Degrees based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) via the JoSAA/CSAB portal. Candidates must go to the examination website's official webpage to receive the necessary information and apply. Following their participation, candidates must get the required qualifying marks to meet the NIT Agartala's cut-off in order to register for the appropriate course, which is followed by the candidates' final admission procedure with the admission fee payment.
The M.Tech, M.Sc, MCA, MBA, and PhD are further postgraduate degrees offered by NIT Agartala. Candidates for the M.Tech programme are chosen based on their GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) results. IIT Joint Admission Test for Master (JAM) scores are used to determine the initial M.Sc. programme selection. The candidate's performance in the Common Admission Test (CAT), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), and Management Aptitude Test (MAT) exams is taken into account while choosing them for admission to NIT's MBA programme. Candidates seeking Admission to PhD course must have a Master's degree with at least 60% marks from a recognized university.
