The National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata (NIH) was established on 10th December in the year 1975. The campus is located in Salt Lake, Kolkata.

The National Institute of Homoeopathy is run by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. NIH currently offers a Bachelor's degree in Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery and a postgraduate degree in Medicine in Homoeopathy. Apart from Homoeopathy Medicine, NIH offers post graduate courses on Homeopathic Pharmacy, Paediatrics, Repertory, and Materia Medica.

Admission Procedure

The National Institute of Homoeopathy's admission is done online. The admission is merit-based. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) eligibility is required for taking admission to the BHMS course. Candidates who want to apply for admission must take part in AYUSH's online counselling process, conducted by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India; Admission Central Counseling Committee (AACCC). Additionally, candidates can apply for a Doctor of Medicine in Homoeopathy M.D. (Hom.) programme. Candidates who have successfully completed the B.H.M.S. degree are eligible for the MD programme. 

Faculty

The faculty members of the National Institute of Homoeopathy are all experienced and the best in their fields. Both the teaching and the non-teaching faculties follow the guidelines of the college and provide the students with their best services.

Placements

Internships are available to students of the National Institute of Homoeopathy during the duration of their degree programme. Students benefit from internship opportunities because they get experience and are more prepared for their future careers. The students are placed in both state and non-state organisations and institutes.



Scholarships

Scholarships are available at the National Institute of Homoeopathy for the students. The scholarships are merit-based. Students from economically weaker background are provided with stipends and scholarships.
