The National Institute of Fashion Technology Raebareli (NIFTR) started its journey in 2007 from a temporary campus on land taken on lease from M/s Indian Telephone Industries (ITI) Ltd. In the years since then, it has moved to its current strategic location that is easily reachable from Raebareli Jn as well as Lucknow. Its proximity to Lucknow and the rich culture of Awadh provides quite a few advantages to students and faculty.

The undergraduate courses offered at the campus are B. Des in Fashion Design, Accessory Design, Leather Design, and Fashion Communication. All four courses are 4 years in duration. The courses are supported by skilled and experienced faculty with extensive industry experience and exposure. They follow innovative teaching methodologies, preparing students to work in fast-paced professional environments. All NIFTs conduct a cumulative admission procedure. Application forms must be filled out online followed by payment of application fee. The Creative Ability Test (CAT), the General Ability Test (GAT), and the Situation Test round make up the NIFT Entrance Exam. GAT is the selection criteria used particularly for admissions to B.F.Tech.

Meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds can apply for NIFT's Means-cum-Merit Financial Assistance plan or for the scholarships given out by the NIFT Development Fund.

The NIFTs across the country have a centralised placement cell, which organises on-campus placements, pre-placement offers and off-campus placements. Top designers, as well as companies from the FMCG, journalism, and media industries, provide job opportunities to students at NIFT placements. H&M, Bata India Ltd, Raniwala Jewellers Pvt. Ltd, Go Colors, and Decathlon are among the leading companies who recruit from the NIFT campuses.

The NIFT Raebareli campus hosts a library containing books, bounds, graduation projects, craft documents, periodicals, national and international fashion and textile journals, and digital resources like audio-visuals, e-books, e-journals, e-magazines and online databases. Well-equipped lecture halls on campus make learning fun and interactive. The campus also has computer labs, course-specific labs, design studios, amphitheatre, recreation room, a gymnasium, and other sports facilities. There is also an air-conditioned cafeteria and an ATM on campus. Students can avail themselves of the separate boys' and girls' hostels for accommodation.
